Kelly Pratt is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and arranger. From 2006–12, he was a full-time member of indie-pop outfit Beirut, contributing arrangements, brass/woodwinds, and vocals. He has collaborated with hundreds of artists including Arcade Fire, Coldplay, LCD Soundsystem, The War on Drugs, Passion Pit and The Antlers. In 2012-13 he collaborated with David Byrne and St. Vincent, providing arrangements for their album “Love this Giant”, as well as serving as arranger and musical director for their world tour. In 2015 he was the arranger and brass/woodwind player for Contemporary Color, a multi-media tour curated by Byrne featuring contemporary pop stars accompanied by color guards. Pratt is also the chief songwriter and vocalist of the band Bright Moments, whose debut NPR called “a wildly creative album, packed with energy.” He is currently on tour as the arranger/conductor and multi-instrumentalist for Father John Misty.
As a composer of media his works have been featured at MTV, The Daily Beast, Marketplace, Marc Maron’s WTF, CollegeHumor.com, LBV TV, and many more. His compositions can also be heard in the Jim Jarmusch film “Gimme Danger” and the short “El Porvenir”. He is currently finishing a score to the short film “Roberta’s Living Room,” and recording and arranging horns for Bob’s Burgers on Fox.
